The Remedy

You might hear the word 'gospel' a lot. We'd like to explain it.

Since we believe that Jesus Christ is the remedy to our deepest problem―a broken relationship with God that results in longing, emptiness, insecurity, the pursuit of ungratifying substitutes, and ultimately eternal destruction―we would love to get to know you and talk about this. Please reach out to us by visiting our Contact page or by sending an email to leadership@remedycitychurch.org.

The gospel is about restoring our relationship with God through his Son Jesus Christ. That restoration is only received by faith, and it is only offered by God in grace, never in repayment for good works, as explained in the Bible, God's revelation of himself to mankind. It is an offer to throw off the gods of materialism, pride, and self-invented spirituality and follow the real God, King Jesus.

The word gospel means "good news." It is good news that Jesus died in our place on a Roman cross, rose from his tomb three days later like he said he would, and was seen by hundreds in the days that followed. When we put our hope in what Christ has done to reconcile us to God instead of doing our best to reconcile ourselves, God grants to us full, complete, final, assured, and eternal forgiveness. We find salvation, eternal life, abundant life, heart transformation, love of God, and love of others. The cost of the gospel to an individual is nothing but repentance and submission to God, a crucifixion of pride and a resurrection to real living. This new life can be found by calling out in belief to God.
